Sam French (Arsenal fan) says...

Personally I disagree with Jamie on most of these observations. I do agree that Torres has lost a touch of the blistering pace that made him one of the best goal scorers in world football. However I think he could still be great if he just gets his head in the right place. He seems to wollow in his own self pity rather than pulling his socks up and getting on with it. Someone needs to shake him and remind him that Inzaghi, Ibrahimovic, Van Persie, Trezeguet, Berbatov & Bergkamp were never/have never been blessed with oustanding speed but they still all scored lorry loads of goals with a combination of confidence, intelligence and supply. Torres has the supply. If he adapts his game to suit what his body can achieve then he'll attain the intelligence. Then it'll only be a matter of time before the goals come to give him the confidence. Torres could be great again. He just needs to want to be.
