So i see that the 4-0,4-1, 3-1 predictions to England is unlikely..Then the claims that Pieterson(class is perminate form is temporary) is keeping Bells place warm for him, have gone, as well as Cook not being good enough for test match cricket. Now people seem to think Morgan should come in for Collingwood,(which will weaken our slip catching and as we are sticking by the crazy idea of four bowlers in HOT Australia he is our fifth bowler)not Bell who by the way along with Collingwood and Prior as not scored a hundred,a couple of fifties really has not won us any games. Again when Bell was needed in Perth to battle and score a big hundred like Collingwood has a number of times and saved us from losing for England, Bell scored a meaningless 50.How we needed a leg spinner to of possibly, made the diffrence.oh wait we do have one in Rashid but i was told we shouldnt of taken him because he is inexperienced and hes not ready for test match cricket..oh how those selectors and people will be regreting not taking him...Finger spinners are not succesfull down under compared to leg spinners...its to late now hopefully next time! Also i have a solid belief that Kiewswetter who like Pieterson performs when it matters ie the 20-20 WORLD CUP FINAL should be playing not Prior(whos scored no runs)when he gets into the test side people will be saying why didnt we bring him in earlier?? If England draw the series 2-2 we will of done fantastic, just like i predicted, but with their bowlers looking better i fear a 2-1 loss..

Let's have some patience please, and some realistic expecttions. We have two inconsistent, occasionally brilliant teams learning to sustain a high level. That takes time as traversing a learning curve for all the individuals involved is not instantaneous, even if our impatience is. We're watching the kind of progress that is only available in the heat of battle, and it's making great watching! Having said the, I believe that the English team is well stuck on the curve to the success they want, by thinking that as soona as a feat is accomplised *once* then that's it, we're great. As Mike Hussey is demonstrating, that feat has to be an ongoing series of feats, not just a one-off.

As a neutral I think Australia's fight back is fantastic for the series. The final 2 tests will be evenly contested and should provide for some enthralling and tense cricket. Shaun L, to say Mitchell Johnson is a one track wonder is a bit disengenous. His first innings batting and bowling display single handedly has stopped the total dominance shown by England. I have seen him do this in SA against the Proteas too.

Hi Guys As an Englishman living in Australia (WA) me & 4 of my mates were really looking forward to the Test match, having experienced the debacle 4 years ago. We are trying to get a refund under the auspice of a) The day lasted less than 10 overs or b) The Trade Descriptions Act, as this was not a 'match' where everybody gave their all & laid their bodies on the line for their country. What made it worse was that we were sat among Aussies who were chanting for the English team to bring back Geoff Boycott & to be truthful as a Yorkshireman myself, I would have loved to have seen him against the Aussie bowlers. He would have shown the grit & determination & probably batted all day & not the 43 mins as this lot did I hope the English team enjoyed their extra 1& 1/2 days time off ' at the expence of us hardworking spectators. Best regards Richard Exey

I think English and Aussie fans need to remember that this series is being played by two lower ranked sides - consistency of performances will be hard to achieve. The series can go either way.

Have just read through these comments, why are we putting our national team down after 1 bad performance, have you forgot the last 2, we have been all over them until this one, it was always said it was going to be a hard pitch to play on. next 2 should be interesting, will have to see if this loss affects England to much, but i don't think it will. Come on England bring the ashes home!

Australia are ranked 4th in the world and a pale imitation of a even just 3 years ago. Hughes, Ponting and Clarke havent been reliable at all. There is no set spinner and the bowling line up has been chopped and changed from test to test yet they can still thrash England at a ground where not so long ago south africa chased over 400 for only 3 or 4 wickets. There is one major difference between the two sides and has been for a long long time - heart. when chips are down australia will come out swinging. once you get england on the back foot they capitulate. England (or more to the point the media and the fickle fans) got carried away after adelaide. yes australia were woeful but it was a flat wicket and dont forget australia bowled england out cheaply in the first innings at the gabba and england had to bat to SAVE the game. a good test each, a bad test each and a stalemate. dont believe your own hype England. You should be absolutely smashing this Australian team. Australia to win 2-1

Normal service has resumed now in the aussie press. After England did well in the first two tests they could only praise England by saying that the side was really full of South African players. Now that the aussies wiped the floor with the poms in the last test suddenly it is a demoralised England team and it's back to pom bashing. Fact is the aussies can tolerate losing to other nations but it is unthinkable to lose to mother England.

If we are talking about loud mouths, Just go back to day 1 of the perth test Blog and listen to the commentary on here when thought you had a good result bowling Australia out for 268 and were in a good position for Perth and the ashes. Pretty interesting reading.

To Michael Lyons.Mate! A fact is something which is proven. Not something yet still to happen? The other thing. When Australia are in England we play on English pitches. When England are in Australia you play on our pitches. Next ashes you should ask the ICB if you can bring your own wickets? And your own Duke ball? The WACA has always been the same. This year maybe a little greener than most years but to think that is was prepared for this outcome is crazy. Other test nations also like to play on it. West Indies, South Africa, Pakistan. Then again they don't always lose at the WACA!

Surprise surprise Englands batsmen have been exposed as flat track bullies, first time they come up against a helpfull bowling wicket they fold, wouldn't have been so bad if they had at least lost showing a bit of a backbone instead of capitulation !!!!!

Truth be known. Whatever all the english couch pundits think. Australia were terrible for the last 12 months or so. But when you can't bat or bowl on a flat wicket, you find it even harder on a lively one! Australia have found their confidence in this test in Perth and I believe it will carry through to Melbourne now. Their spirit and confidence is back right through the team. I hope that Nathan Hauriz is brought back in for melbourne and Sydney so we have a good spinner. Ricky Ponting might just be feeling humble enough to let go and see reason. My tip is that Ponting will get over his poor spell and score a century on boxing day. Australia need to win a toss somewhere along the line in an ashes test. I am worried for England. I think James Andersons has been good this series but Mitchell Johnson has shaken him up a bit now. Anyway we will see how england come back?

I just dont understand how you can outbat the opposition so comprehensively in one game and get bowled out for nothing in 2 innings. I think Morgan should get a chance to come into the team and replace collingwood. I dnt think being an excellent fielder compensates for underperforming with the bat. Our bowling attack even without broad is good enough and Anderson and swann havent hit top form yet.
