Collingwood should be dropped and Morgan brought in. It would be good experience for Morgan but I dont think the selectors will change a wining team.

Dale Mcdonough says...

Collingwood needs to be dropped. He is giving no support to Bell and Prior by getting out so cheaply. Morgan should be brought in for him and he should bat at 6 while Bell should move up to 5.

Truly said by great Sky Sports commentators. England inflicted one of the huge defeats on Aussies. You can give full credit to England they way they have done their job during the series. England should have won in Perth too. They spoiled golden chance like last time i.e. 2006-07 after dismissing the Australia around 260 odd runs. Usually England play really well in Melbourne and Sydney. Now I want to see Tim Bresnen to become England's genuine all rounder.

message to Luke...why bother when you have the channel 9 commentary team, the biggest patter of backs anywhere.

Wonderful team, I did think we'd win before it started: full of confidence and talent - at last England! :), and the team seems to be getting stronger: Potential bowlers for the near future:: Tremlett, Anderson & Broad; all the batters - but give Morgan one go, and rest Collingwood... However likable Colly is, we have to go for the best quality team with what we are aware of now... You change the bowlers getting better and better almos Australia always seemed like a more fragmented team. Mike Hussey can still be very strong though. . Cofidence is

Though Luke, in fairness I don't think they assemble these ex-captains for the sake of this article & to clap each other on the back; instead they're all simply members of the Sky commentary team & the article is a composite of things they said during coverage after the MCG victory, the same as any such article could be put together after a Test by someone from things said by the group of generally ex-captain Aussies on the Channel Nine coverage.

Luke Mcanally says...

As an Aussie, well played England. Truly deserved and simply a far better team than we have at the moment. Having said that, when we get back to winning, I pray that we'll never assemble a bunch of ex captains to pat each other on the back like this. I don't remember us ever doing that over the past 15-20 years of domination.

Stephen Bell says...

Too true lads the team stuck together and retained the Ashes so should party real hard together for a day or so, but I am sure all of them know they have the Aussies down so will want to beat them again next week and keep them down where they belong, Well Done Lads the whole Country are so proud.

It was great to watch this thrilling contest and full marks to England for splendid display of all around performance. I watched every match and & why, because England really played good cricket. Following cricket from Botham era to date, it was a great moment in cricket history. Australia needs and requires long time to recover because there does not seem to be any pool of backup players or selection of players is not up to the mark for Aussies. Again I would like ICC to be very strict on player,s conduct on & off the field including spot-fixing or personal behavior. I am following cricket for the last 30 years and kept in touch with it in all parts of the world. Cricket is beyond and above the personalities and this beautiful game should arise above all. England was brilliant in all aspects against Australia. Keep it up, its good for international cricket.
