Nice article. Having watched McDowell's performance in the match-play there is no qusetionning his bottle, and for that matter his ability. His recovery ability reminds me of Harrington from years previous. If he was able to give himself a few more chances at birdies, with his putting, I think he would be up there competing in more tournaments. McIlroy is another kettle of fish altogether. His ability is without question. He's unbelievable to watch as you never know whats going to happen, good or bad. I have one fear with him. As he gets older is he starting to lose that fantastic self confidence he once had? I hope not, but I've seen glimpses recently where you can see he's doubting himself even when he's playing well. Worst of all it appears to be in those 'clutch moments' which are key to winning tournaments! Maybe a chat with his pal McDowell would work wonders! Regardless I hope McDowell and Rory both have a great 2014, and with my handicapp dropping all the time (ahem from 11!) maybe i'll join them on the tour next year :)
