Dillian Whyte and Alexander Povetkin could meet next to hasten their route into a fight against Anthony Joshua.
Whyte and Povetkin are among the leading contenders to next oppose Joshua, who holds the IBF, WBA and WBO heavyweight titles after outpointing Joseph Parker at the weekend.
Povetkin is the mandatory challenger to the WBA belt, and after knocking out David Price on the Joshua-Parker undercard, was called out by Whyte.
"[Povetkin] is a good, strong fighter but I know what you have to do to beat him," Whyte told Sky Sports. "You just need a good, strong jab and you beat Povetkin all day.
"I'd fight him next. I just told him. He said he'd fight me next. [Promoter Eddie Hearn] said he'd make it."
Hearn said about Whyte: "[Povetkin] will be mandatory for Joshua but I've got another heavyweight who wants to fight Povetkin in June, if he wants it."
Whyte is currently the No 1 contender to WBC champion Deontay Wilder's title but could switch his attention to a version of the WBA belt to eventually secure his rematch with Joshua, to whom he lost in December 2015.
WBA president Gilberto Mendoza confirmed to Sky Sports Whyte could face the winner of Fres Oquendo vs Manuel Charr, for the organisation's 'regular' title, to book an eventual fight with Joshua.
"At the end of the day, we're going to try and have one belt, that's the whole idea," Mendoza added.
Whyte brutally knocked out Lucas Browne the week before Joshua's win against Parker.
