Amir Khan has backed Kell Brook's audacious decision to challenge middleweight world champion Gennady Golovkin.

The Sheffield fighter is stepping up two divisions to face the fearsome Golovkin, just a few months after Khan courageously jumped up in weight to battle Saul Alvarez in May.

Khan's brave bid to claim the WBC middleweight title was ended by a sixth-round stoppage defeat to the Mexican and Brook is attempting an equally daunting task by battling the big-punching Kazakh on September 10 at The O2, live on Sky Sports Box Office.

But the Bolton man has set aside his bitter rivalry with Brook and expressed his support for a fellow British fighter.

He tweeted: "Great work Eddie, preferred to have seen @ChrisEubankJr fight @GGGBoxing with his style but fair play.
