Kell Brook and Gennady Golovkin weigh in before their fight at the O2 Arena

Kell Brook weighed in slightly heavier than Gennady Golovkin ahead of their blockbuster unified world middleweight title clash at The O2 on Saturday.

There was intrigue ahead of the weigh-in with suggestions that the WBA Super, WBC and IBF world middleweight champion was unwell, while Brook was said to be thriving with an extra 13lb allowance.

Welterweight world champion Brook (36-0-KO25) is jumping up two weight divisions to face the most feared man in boxing, live on Sky Sports Box Office, and weighed in just inside the middleweight limit at 159.4 lbs while Golovkin came in at 158.9.

The pair then squared off in front of a roaring crowd and locked into an intense stare-down.

Brook, who like Golovkin (35-0-KO32) has never lost a fight, was in confident mood and says that he sensed trepidation in his Kazakh opponent.

"I looked into his eyes and I could see fear. He knows he's in a real fight on Saturday night and it can't come quick enough," he told Sky Sports News HQ.

"I just feel he's on edge and uncomfortable. He knows it's my time and he can see in my eyes that I want to shock the world. I'm a natural at this weight and I can't wait to show the world what I can do.

"It's written for me to go out there and do this, It's my time to shine. It's in the stars for me to win this fight and I can't wait to take those belts home."

Brook also said that he feels better with the extra weight as he prepares to face one of the biggest punchers in the sport.

"I normally look like I've got my grandad's teeth in but it's not as bad this time. I'm ready to fuel up, get in there and let some rocket launchers go. We've done everything we could have done in training and I've peaked at the right time.

"It's about getting some meals in me now, being calm, cool and collected."

Golovkin was in no mood to hang around and quickly departed the arena, giving the media no opportunity to speak to him.
