The NSAC voted unanimously about the officials then also to waive their own rule that bouts in the 154lbs division, where Mayweather and McGregor will meet, must use 10oz gloves. Both fighters submitted requests to wear 8oz gloves, as reported by Sky Sports last week, which has now been approved.

Mayweather's most recent three fights, and his pro debut 21 years ago, were overseen by Kenny Bayless who was not considered as the referee for next weekend's fight due to critical comments.
