Liam Dawson will be named in the England World Cup squad this morning, with Joe Denly and David Willey missing out, Sky Sports News understands.

Left-arm Hampshire spinner Dawson should get the nod despite not featuring in the recent ODI series against Pakistan as he offers a direct alternative to Moeen Ali and Adil Rashid.

Kent batsman Denly also offers a spin option but is only a part-time bowler.

Hampshire's James Vince is expected to be preferred in place of Alex Hales, who was not included in the provisional squad after he was banned for 21 days due to recreational drug use.

Yorkshire pace bowler Willey struggled to make an impact in the 4-0 series win over Pakistan, with talented newcomer Jofra Archer appearing to have done enough to earn a place in the squad for the tournament in England and Wales, which gets underway at Lord's on May 30.
