Sol Campbell - one month at Notts County, one appearance
Sol Campbell won the FA Cup with Premier League Portsmouth at the end of the 2007/08 season - but a little over one year on he was on his way to League Two Notts County, to link up with Sven-Goran Eriksson in one of the most bizarre transfer stories in recent times.
The former England international and two-time Premier League winner put pen to paper on a five year deal in August 2009, following the club's takeover by a Middle Eastern consortium.
However, despite talk of the club's ambitions to reach the Premier League, Campbell walked out three days after his debut - a 2-1 defeat to Morecambe - and had his contract cancelled by mutual consent.
David Unsworth - one month at Aston Villa, 0 appearances
After starring for 1995 FA Cup winners Everton, David Unsworth was sold to West Ham in 1997 - but, despite playing 32 times in the league for the Hammers the following season, struggled to settle in the capital.
Keen on a move which took him closer to his Merseyside home, Unsworth joined Aston Villa for £3m. Just one month later, though - and without making a single competitive appearance for the Villans - Unsworth was sold back to Everton for the same £3m fee.
Clive Allen - two months at Arsenal, 0 appearances
Arsenal signed QPR forward Clive Allen in 1980 for £1.25m, however, without making a league appearance, the young striker was part of a swap deal with Crystal Palace for Kenny Samson.
It wouldn't be the last the Gunners saw of Allen, though - he went on to score three times against them across three 1987 League Cup semi-final fixtures for rivals Spurs. Samson, though, became a club legend at Arsenal, racking up over 300 league appearances.
Christian Vieri, one month at Sampdoria, 0 appearances
After a short, injury-hit spell with Monaco, Italy striker Christian Vieri returned to Serie A with Sampdoria in 2006, signing a one-year contract.
However, the former Inter Milan ace was on the move again 35 days later, without making a single appearance for the club, citing a lack of motivation. Atalanta were his next port of call, where he scored twice in seven appearances during 2006/07.
David Livermore, 10 days at Leeds United, 0 appearances
After losing the Championship play-off final to Watford in 2006, Leeds United snapped up combative midfielder David Livermore from relegated Millwall - however, the former Arsenal trainee lasted just 10 days at Elland Road before being sold on to Hull City.
After signing Livermore, Leeds had managed to bring in central midfielders Ian Westlake and Kevin Nicholls, which, according to boss Kevin Blackwell, left the former Millwall man with limited first-team opportunities.
