Huddersfield and Leicester meet for the first time in a Premier League fixture as David Wagner’s men look to maintain their unbeaten home record this season.

The Terriers' 2-0 defeat at West Ham on Monday Night Football was their first in the Premier League.

Wagner's men are yet to concede at home in two games this season with positive results against Newcastle and Southampton. Going further back, including before this summer, Huddersfield's tight backline have conceded just four goals in their last eight league games.

Leicester have lost both their away games this season at Arsenal and Manchester United, conceding six goals in the process. In a tricky start to the campaign, Craig Shakespeare's men have also played Chelsea and were seen off 2-1 last weekend.

Matty James and Christian Fuchs are injury doubts for Leicester.

Midfielder James has not trained this week after suffering an Achilles problem against Chelsea while full-back Fuchs is nursing an eye injury following a freak accident in training which saw a pole flick him in the face.

Vicente Iborra (groin) is fit again and available for the first time this season while fellow summer signing Kelechi Iheanacho could make his full debut. Robert Huth (ankle) is also nearing full fitness and might be in the squad.

Opta stats

Huddersfield have lost their last seven league games against Leicester; their joint-longest losing run versus an opponent (also vs Ipswich in 1988 and vs Wolves in 1948).

Leicester manager Craig Shakespeare has said an appeal to complete the Adrien Silva transfer is in process but he is waiting for an update.

Huddersfield have failed to keep a clean sheet in each of their last 11 matches against Leicester City in all competitions, last recording a shutout in November 1987 with Lee Martin in between the sticks that day.

Leicester have lost five of their last seven Premier League matches (W1 D1 L5), this after Shakespeare lost only two of his opening 10 games in charge of the team in the competition.

The Foxes have the lowest average possession figure of all Premier League sides so far in 2017-18 (36.6%).

Paul Merson's prediction

I was disappointed in Huddersfield against West Ham. I know Leicester lost to Chelsea last weekend but I think they will have too much for Huddersfield, who looked a bit short on Monday.

PAUL PREDICTS: 1-2 (8/1 with Sky Bet)

Betting

Leicester are Sky Bet's 6/5 favourites with Huddersfield 9/4 and the draw priced at 23/10. The Terriers' impressive start has seen them push out from odds-on to 13/8 to face relegation, while their visitors have been cut to 11/1. 4/1 first goalscorer favourite Jamie Vardy is enhanced from 5/2 to 7/2 to net in a Foxes while Steve Mounie is considered the hosts' main threat at 6/1 to break the deadlock.
