An emotional John Terry reiterated his desire to stay with Chelsea after the final game of the season against Leicester.
Terry is out of contract in the summer and although the club have offered him a one-year deal, he is yet to sign, saying on Friday that he is mulling over the decision.
The defender was not involved in the 1-1 draw against Leicester due to suspension but made a post-match speech to the fans. Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich was also watching and applauded when Terry said he wanted to stay.
"We all want the same thing," said Terry, who struggled to hold back tears. "I want to be here for the rest of my career.
"We have a few days and we will be speaking to the club. I want to stay, the club know that, and the fans know that.
"I would like to thank everyone. This season has been tough for me and very emotional."
Chelsea fans showed their support for Terry by applauding in the 26th minute and holding up signs with his squad number on.
Terry admitted it had been a "difficult season", with Guus Hiddink leading the Blues to a 10th-place finish after coming in to replace Jose Mourinho in December.
"It's not been us this season," said Terry. "We have not been at our best and we are where we deserve to be in the league.
"We will be back and fighting for the title next year. I would like to say a huge thank you to Guus Hiddink. He is a great man and he has come in and picked us up."
