The stands of Goodison Park will be packed with Liverpudlians this weekend - but that won't be the case on the pitch.
Sunday's clash is set to become the first time that Liverpool have not started with a Scouser in a Merseyside derby since the 1986 FA Cup final.
The summer departure of Steven Gerrard to LA Galaxy means Liverpool are unlikely to start a local-born player against Everton for the first time in Premier League history and for the first time since they beat Everton 3-1 at Wembley almost 30 years ago.
On that day, Kenny Dalglish's team beat Howard Kendall's side in the first all-Merseyside FA Cup final to clinch the double.
With Mark Lawrenson playing for Republic of Ireland, the team didn't feature any English players - the first time that had happened in the history of the FA Cup final - but Liverpool-born Steve McMahon was an unused substitute.
Since then, the two sides have met 69 times in league and cup competitions and Liverpool have fielded a player born in the Liverpool region on each occasion.
In total, 16 Merseysiders have worn a Liverpool shirt in a derby in that time: Gary Ablett, John Aldridge, Jamie Carragher, Jon Flanagan, Robbie Fowler, Steven Gerrard, Martin Kelly, Rickie Lambert, Mike Marsh, Jason McAteer, Steve McMahon, Steve McManaman, Jay Spearing, David Thompson, Stephen Warnock and Stephen Wright.
The high point for local Liverpool players in that period came in March 2012 when FOUR local players appeared in the 3-0 win over against Everton at Anfield.
On that day, Carragher, Gerrard, Kelly and Spearing all started - but the Scouse count is set to drop to zero on Super Sunday.
Gerrard and Lambert left the club during the summer and while Flanagan is still on the club's books he has not played last season or this due to a long-term knee injury.
The only Scouser to play for Liverpool in the Premier League this season is 18-year-old Jordan Rossiter, who made a 14-minute substitute appearance against Arsenal, but is not expected to feature on Sunday. Another Academy product, Connor Randall, has been an unused substitute in the Europa League.
On the other hand, two Merseyside-born players have featured regularly for Everton this season with Ross Barkley and Tyias Browning likely to provide some local representation on the field.
Tune in to watch Super Sunday - Everton v Liverpool - from 12.30pm, Sunday on Sky Sports 1.
