Jordan Henderson 'out for the season and doubt for Euro 2016'

Liverpool's Jordan Henderson could miss out on Euro 2016 because of a knee ligament injury

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has been ruled out for six to eight weeks with a knee injury and is a major doubt for Euro 2016, Sky sources understand.

Henderson came off at half-time in Thursday night's 1-1 draw with Borussia Dortmund in the Europa League and a scan has confirmed that he has damaged his lateral collateral ligament (LCL).

A LCL injury can typically keep players out for up to three months but the injury is understood to be less serious than usual.
