Promising Everton midfielder Ross Barkley is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines after a double fracture of his leg.
The 16-year-old suffered the injury while on England duty with the Under-19s in their European Championship qualifier against Belgium on Wednesday.
He was involved in a collision with team-mate Andre Wisdom in the first half of the 2-1 defeat which led to both players needing to be substituted.
The full extent of his injury will now be assessed by the medical team at Everton, where he has been on the first-team bench this season but is yet to make his professional debut.
