Eric Dier will be monitored over the next few days after suffering a concussion in Tottenham's 1-1 draw with West Brom on Monday night.
The 21-year-old England midfielder suffered a bang to the head during West Brom's equaliser, as he clashed with goalscorer Craig Dawson.
Dier stayed down following the goal and received treatment before being substituted for Ryan Mason.
The Spurs players had a day off on Tuesday. Dier will be assessed on Wednesday in the hope he could be fit for Spurs' visit to Stamford Bridge to play Chelsea next Monday.
Dier's potential absence would be a blow to manager Mauricio Pochettino as he could be without fellow midfielder Dele Alli.
Alli was charged by the FA on Tuesday for an alleged act of violent conduct after appearing to punch West Brom's Claudio Yacob.
If found guilty, Alli faces a three-match ban which would rule him out for the rest of the season.
