Jan Vertonghen says Tottenham have one of the strongest squads in the Premier League.

Spurs are the only remaining unbeaten team in the Premier League, despite injuries to key players this season.

Harry Kane (ankle) and Toby Alderweireld were both sidelined for Tuesday night's Champions League draw at Bayer Leverkusen. Previously Hugo Lloris and Mousa Demble have missed games through injury and suspension respectively.

Eric Dier deputised for Alderweireld - out with a knee injury - against Leverkusen while Kyle Walker was also missing in Germany as  he was given a breather.

For Vertonghen, the fact  that Spurs have got results this season without several of their key players, shows a strength and depth that has not been there before.

The defender said: "We have shown it again. It started with Harry and people said it about Hugo [that the team would suffer without them].

"But Michel Vorm came in for Hugo and he showed it against Liverpool and Eric Dier showed it against Leverkusen.

"We can miss almost everyone, although obviously not eight or nine players. The squad is so strong and we showed that against Leverkusen in a performance without Toby, without Kyle.

He added: "Previously, we might have lost that game to Leverkusen but now, we can draw. Sometimes you have to take a draw."
