Tottenham centre-back Jan Vertonghen has signed an improved three-year contract to remain at the club until 2019.
The Belgium international joined Spurs in 2012 from Ajax and has made 179 appearances for Mauricio Pochettino's side.
"It's a big relief," Vertonghen told Spurs TV. "I'm very happy to be here, the future look great so I'm very happy to be a part of it."
"This is an unbelievable group of guys and talent and I feel privileged to be a part of that.
"This is probably the strongest squad that I've ever played in. I can't imagine playing anywhere else.
"We created a great atmosphere in the team and there's a great buzz around Tottenham."
The announcement comes 24 hours after striker Harry Kane signed a new six-year deal to remain at White Hart Lane until 2022.
Eric Dier, Dele Alli, Christian Eriksen, Kyle Walker and Danny Rose have also signed new deals since the start of the season
Vertoghen has 85 caps for Belgium and was named in the PFA Team of the Year following a successful first season at the club in 2012/13.
Vertonghen and Tottenham host Swansea on Saturday looking to return to form after a run of only one win in their last 10 fixtures.
