Aston Villa have signed Italy U21 goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini from Hellas Verona.
Gollini joins Robert Di Matteo's side on a four-year contract for a fee reported to be around £4.25m
The 21-year-old joined the Italian side from Manchester United in 2014 and made 27 appearances in Serie A last season after establishing himself as the club's No 1.
Gollini has already joined up with the rest of the Villa squad on their pre-season training camp in Austria and is expected to provide competition for for a first team place with Brad Guzan.
"I am very pleased to have brought in Pierluigi," said Di Matteo. "We have managed to sign him despite the fact he was being chased by a number of top sides and that is a great sign.
"He's a young man but has plenty of experience and I'm sure he'll prove to be an excellent signing for the club."
