Tranmere came from behind to earn a point in a 1-1 draw at Sheffield United to make it four games unbeaten.

Ched Evans scored his 26th goal of the season to give the hosts a first-half lead but Lucas Akins equalised early in the second-half to put a dent in the Blades' automatic promotion bid. After United's Chris Porter put a shot wide on the turn wide, Evans scrambled the ball home from close range in the 31st minute following good work from Stephen Quinn. Akins equalised with a header from Welsh's corner after being left unmarked in the 54th minute. The ball crossed the line despite the efforts of a couple of defenders who tried to clear the ball. Goalkeeper Owain Fon Williams came to Tranmere's rescue, stopping headers from Porter and Neill Collins in quick succession. Ryan Brunt had a good chance to put Tranmere ahead after being put through on goal, but he was forced wide by Blades keeper Steve Simonsen who got down bravely to make a vital block.
