Despite losing 3-1 to Arsenal on Saturday, Watford captain Troy Deeney says there is more to come from the Hornets.
Watford started their Premier League season with a 1-1 draw against Southampton on the opening day of the season, followed by two home losses to Chelsea and Arsenal.
It has been another summer of change at Vicarage Road, with a total of 16 players leaving the club either permanently or on loan, and eight joining under the guidance of new manager Walter Mazzarri.
Watford's new club-record signing Roberto Pereyra, who joined for £13m on August 19, made his Premier League debut off the bench against the Gunners and reduced the deficit to 3-1.
And after a strong second-half showing from the Golden Boys, Deeney believes there is more to come from his side still developing under Mazzarri.
"We live to fight another day," he said. "We are a new team gelling again, these first four or five games won't define our season. The window closing on Wednesday will help us [settle].
"Defensively we are just getting minor details wrong at the moment. We can take a lot of positives from the second half though.
"Our season will be defined by beating the teams around us. Pereyra has scored on his debut and that will give him confidence. I believe in hard work and that will get us results."
