Stoke City are in talks with Bournemouth over the permanent signing of goalkeeper Adam Federici.

The Championship side want him to replace Lee Grant, who is having a medical at Manchester United this week ahead of a move to Old Trafford.

Federici joined Bournemouth from Reading in the summer of 2015, and has just one year remaining on his contract at the Vitality Stadium.

The 33-year-old is third choice at Bournemouth, behind Asmir Begovic and Artur Boruc, and failed to make a single appearance for the Cherries last season.

Stoke have made two signings so far in the summer transfer window as new manager Gary Rowett restructures his squad.
