Kieran Lee's equaliser for Sheffield Wednesday ensured Barnsley's pre-season campaign ended winless after a 1-1 draw at Oakwell.
The Reds, who begin their quest to get out of League One next week, have endured a torrid build-up to the new campaign but went ahead on the half-hour mark on Saturday when Danny Rose stabbed home from close range.
Wednesday rallied after the break, though, and needed only three minutes of the second period to level when Lee bundled home from close range.
