Tigers plan to discuss loan extension with Arsenal

Arsenal goalkeeper Vito Mannone has confirmed he would be interested in extending his loan deal at Hull City. Mannone joined the Championship club last month and has replaced Matt Duke in the starting line-up for the Tigers' last three games. The Italian is enjoying his time at the KC Stadium and would be open to staying with Nigel Pearson's side beyond January. "I'm just focusing on the coming games, but when we get to the end of December, we can discuss what happens next," Mannone told the Hull Daily Mail. "I'm happy enough to stay and why not? If everything is going well, I'm playing and the club is happy with me. "I need to speak to Arsenal and they need to speak to Hull and then they need to talk together, we'll take it from there."

Tigers assistant Craig Shakespeare says the club will be contacting Arsenal in the hope of agreeing a deal to hang on to Mannone. Shakespeare said: "We aim to keep Vito beyond January. He came in and had to be patient when Dukey was holding his place down. "But we changed it and it has worked for us. We've been happy with his contribution and it's an ongoing thing. "As long as we're happy with it, Arsenal are happy with it. We are happy with the situation and I think negotiations will take place."
