Walsall 1-1 Swindon: Kieron Morris strike earns a point

Highlights of the Sky Bet League 1 clash between Walsall and Swindon

Walsall substitute Kieron Morris earned Walsall a vital point with a 70th-minute equaliser to earn the Sky Bet League One promotion chasers a 1-1 draw with Swindon at the Banks's Stadium.

Two minutes after replacing Anthony Forde, who had just hit a post, Morris cut in from the right and drilled a low left-foot shot beyond keeper Jake Kean, but the Saddlers will look at this as two points dropped.

They had fallen behind when the impressive Michael Doughty picked up a rebound in the box to shoot under Neil Etheridge in the 59th minute, and it was no more than impressive Swindon deserved.

After a lively opening by Walsall in which Milan Lalkovic just failed to reach an inswinging cross from Forde at the far post, and Romaine Sawyers fired over from a great position inside the box, Swindon settled down to play the more adventurous football, with Doughty shining in midfield.

Winger James Brophy caused problems for the Saddlers down the left and in the 22nd minute Nicky Ajose fired just wide from 15 yards then Jon Obika saw his low drive smothered by Etheridge, then, as Walsall hit back Jordy Hiwula had a shot blocked.
