Loan star nets for Whites

Tranmere Rovers maintained their League One status after thumping rock-bottom Stockport 3-0. Les Parry's men escaped the drop in front as more than 3,000 travelling fans started their survival party early when Ian Goodison scored the opener minutes before the interval. The veteran defender crashed a close-range shot into the roof of County's net for the Whites after playing a neat one-two with Bas Savage. On-loan West Brom midfielder Joss Labadie could have doubled Rovers' lead when his 30 yard drive was superbly beaten away by Stockport shot-stopper Lloyd Rigby. Less than ten minutes after the break Zoumana Bakayogo crossed from the left and former Hatters striker Ian Thomas-Moore volleyed in from eight yards. The win was wrapped up in the 76th minute when Labadie did finally get on the scoresheet as the 19-year-old tapped in following a Rigby spilled shot from Savage to make it 3-0.
