Mellish heads to Blyth

Hartlepool's teenage defender Jordan Mellish has signed for Blue Square Bet North side Blyth Spartans.

Mellish, 18, was offered his first professional contract by Pools in the summer, but the club have opted not to renew his short-term deal. The centre-half worked his way through the centre of Excellence at Victoria Park, but was unable to force his way into the first-team squad.
