Dons frustrated by Pools

James Poole scored on his return to the Hartlepool side but MK Dons hit back to earn a 1-1 draw at Victoria Park.

Poole, out for over two months with a hamstring problem, headed home from six yards after Andy Monkhouse had nodded on a Paul Murray cross five minutes before the break. But the Dons levelled six minutes into the second half when Jay O'Shea nodded in Shaun Williams' cross from close range. Luke Chadwick had hit a post from 35 yards for the visitors after 14 minutes and just before half-time, Dons keeper David Martin tipped a Ritchie Humphreys shot round the post. Chadwick struck the woodwork again in the second half but neither side could come up with a winner.
