Bradford accept Pickford red

Bradford have decided not to appeal against goalkeeper Jordan Pickford's dismissal in Saturday's home defeat to Rochdale.

Manager Phil Parkinson was infuriated by Pickford's early sending off by referee Gavin Ward, who deemed the on-loan Sunderland goalkeeper had brought down Rochdale striker Matty Done inside the penalty area. But Bradford have opted not to appeal after being informed by the Football Association that Pickford can serve his one-game ban by missing Wednesday's FA Cup replay against Millwall, despite the player being refused to play in the competition by his parent club. Parkinson said: "We were confident of getting it overturned given the indications we had received over the weekend, but there is no point appealing now once we knew Jordan would only miss the Millwall tie." Pickford, who has made 25 appearances for Bradford since arriving on a season-long loan in the summer, will be available for next Saturday's league game at Yeovil.
