Midfielder pens two-year deal at Liberty Stadium

Shaun MacDonald has committed his future to Swansea City by penning a two-year contract with the Championship club. MacDonald had an offer to move to Yeovil on a permanent basis after impressing during a loan spell last season. But the 22-year-old has opted to remain at the Liberty Stadium as he aims for a regular role under Swansea boss Paulo Sousa next season. "I really enjoyed myself at Yeovil. There are some really nice people there and the likes of (manager) Terry Skiverton, Darren Way, Nathan Jones, Ben Roberts and physio Simon Baker helped me a lot," he told the club's official website. "They made me feel at home, gave me a pat on the back when I needed it and encouraged me a lot." MacDonald added: "I had a few offers to play elsewhere, but I think everyone knows how much I love Swansea and the people. "I suppose the easy decision would have been to go and play regular football in League One, but I wanted to come back and give it another go at Swansea. "I've got aims and ambitions and I am confident in my own ability. Now I can't wait for pre-season to start so I can work hard towards establishing myself in the first team."
