Five-star Bournemouth eased into the Carling Cup second round with a comfortable 5-0 victory over Dagenham.

Marc Pugh and Shaun Cooper scored first-half goals to put the Cherries in firm control and Liam Feeney and Lyle Taylor (two) also struck to ensure a safe passage for Lee Bradbury's men. Chances came and went during a lively opening before Pugh collected a pass from Taylor and fired home right-footed from 25 yards in the 32nd minute. And Cooper added a second three minutes later when he took Scott Malone's pass and rifled a low shot into the corner from 20 yards. Mark Arber then headed wide for Dagenham, but the hosts remained largely dominant and added a third in the 57th minute when Feeney latched onto Pugh's fine pass and rifled home from six yards out. Taylor then seized centre stage with a late double, first firing home from Jayden Stockley's header and then burying a pass from Pugh for his second.
