Rotherham boss Steve Evans will decide the fate of his out-of-contract players in a meeting on Monday.

The Millers are beginning the review process of a successful season in the Sky Bet Championship where they comfortably survived the drop despite a three-point deduction by the Football League.

There are several players out of contract, including star performers Ben Pringle and skipper Craig Morgan, and Evans will meet with his staff and chairman on Monday to decide their future.

"People are going to get told what's happening on Tuesday," Evans said. "If it's contracts or new contracts or extended contracts or whatever, I'll give them the news and then they'll deal with (chief executive) Paul Douglas. I don't get involved with that side. I just make the decisions.

"I'll have another long meeting with Paul Raynor and the staff probably on Monday but the players will be informed of the decisions on Tuesday."

Evans is preparing himself for a busy summer but is not going to repeat his scattergun approach of last year, which saw him sign 17 players by the end of the August transfer window.

"There's no time for a break," he added. "We'll sit down in the afternoon and the chairman will say 'yes' to a lot of the things I'm asking for, like he's always done. Then we'll go and try to put it into place.

"It's about quality in the summer, it' not about quantity. It's got to be about quality because we're in a league full of it. We need to have the same effort and desire and hunger and add some quality to the good quality we have already got.

"We've had some players out there who have been outstanding through the season. We want to be adding to them and giving them good players to play with or good players to compete with. And that's what we're going to try to do."
