Wycombe 2-4 Morecambe: Veteran Kevin Ellison scores twice in shock win

Highlights from Sky Bet League Two as Wycombe hosted Morecambe.

Kevin Ellison scored twice on the day after his 39th birthday as struggling Morecambe tore up the form book with a 4-2 victory at promotion-chasing Wycombe.

The Shrimps had not won any of their previous six games, but kept themselves five points clear of the relegation zone, while the previously in-form Chairboys slipped down to third.

Morecambe were gifted an early lead when Nathan McGinley flicked Michael Rose's long throw away from his own goalkeeper, giving Adam McGurk an empty net to head into at the back post.

There was nothing fortunate about the Shrimps' second goal, however, as Ellison smashed an unstoppable half-volley across goalkeeper Scott Brown and into the top corner.

It got even better for the visitors as Ellison thumped in a far-post header from Gregg Wylde's cross before McGurk was allowed to cut inside and score to make it 4-0 after 52 minutes.
