Crawley 1-3 Stevenage

Veteran striker Alex Revell scored two late goals as Stevenage recorded their first win of the season with a 3-1 victory at Crawley.

Revell headed home at the far post to put Boro ahead on 88 minutes and cashed in on a defensive error to complete the scoring in the fifth minute of stoppage time.

Former Colchester striker Kurtis Guthrie, called up for his Stevenage debut by boss Dino Maamria, had the first shot on goal when he dragged an effort wide from the edge of the area on 15 minutes.

Defender George Francomb, one of five new players in Crawley's line-up, put a glancing header over from a corner by fellow new boy Filipe Morais.

Guthrie later had a low goal-bound shot held by keeper Glenn Morris before striker Danny Newton was forced off injured to be replaced by Alex Reid.

Midfielder James Ball headed wide shortly before the interval after Crawley managed their first shot on target when Josh Payne had a low effort easily saved.

Boro broke the deadlock three minutes after the break when substitute Reid rose unchallenged to head home a cross from Luther Wildin from 10 yards.
