Well-travelled striker Jon Parkin has signed a new one-year contract at Fleetwood.
Parkin joined the Cod Army ahead of their debut Football League season last summer following his release by Cardiff. Despite being plagued by hamstring problems, Parkin, 31, scored 12 goals in 24 appearances during the recently completed campaign - including hat-tricks in the Lancashire derby triumphs at Morecambe and Accrington. Elsewhere, Fleetwood will host Preston on July 20 to mark the start of defender Nathan Pond's testimonial year. The 27-year-old has made 317 appearances over 10 years with the Highbury Stadium outfit, scoring 48 times.Parkin commits to another year
