Dundee United have signed goalkeeper Michal Szromnik for an undisclosed fee from Polish side Arka Gdynia.
The Poland Under-21 international joins United on a three-year contract, subject to international clearance.
Tannadice boss Jackie McNamara believes the 21-year-old is good enough to challenge fellow Pole Radoslaw Cierzniak for the number-one spot next season.
McNamara said: "Michal comes very highly recommended and our goalkeeping coach Craig Hinchcliffe is very impressed with his ability. I see Michal coming in and challenging for the number one jersey immediately.
"He has a lot of experience for someone his age and every aspect of his game has strong foundations. His arrival will add to our options and create a more competitive environment for the goalkeepers already here."
Szromnik added: "Dundee United is a club which gives players a chance regardless of age and also has a history of Polish goalkeepers. This is a great opportunity for me and I am very excited by this opportunity."
