Cristiano Ronaldo has been training ahead of the Champions League final after suffering an injury scare.

The Real Madrid star limped out of a session on Tuesday after suffering a knock to his left thigh following a clash with reserve goalkeeper Kiko Casilla.

It caused a stir in what was an open day for the media, but the Portugal international has alleviated fears he could miss Saturday's final against city rivals Atletico by taking part in training as usual on Wednesday.

Ronaldo was also quick to play down his knock on Tuesday, and reassured the media he would be continuing to prepare as normal.

"I am fine. I had a little problem in training, a dead leg as they say here, but tomorrow [Wednesday] or the next day I will be fine. It was a minor scare, a knock," he said after the training session.

Real take on local rivals Atletico in the Champions League final for the second time in three seasons, having won 4-1 in 2014 with Ronaldo scoring a penalty in the final minute of extra time.

Ronaldo missed three games last month with a thigh strain and sat out a practice match on Saturday ahead of the highly-anticipated clash at the San Siro in Milan.

Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane was also quick to put any doubts to rest after the striker's omission, and is confident he will be fit on Saturday.

"There will be no problem," Zidane said. "He felt something on Saturday when we had a game between us and he didn't play as a precaution. He will be ready for Saturday and I think we are in good shape physically."

Ronaldo is aiming to break his own record of 17 Champions League goals in a season in Milan having already netted 16 in the competition this campaign.

Carlo Ancelotti says Cristiano Ronaldo is the best he has ever worked with ahead of this weekend's Champions League final.
