Real Zaragoza climbed out of the Primera Liga relegation zone courtesy of a Diego Alves own-goal in a 1-0 win over rock-bottom Almeria.
Shot-stopper Alves had frustrated Zaragoza in the opening stages, particularly Braulio Rodriguez and Ander Herrera, who both had good chances.
However, the shot-stopper suffered a cruel moment of misfortune in the 70th minute which decided the contest.
A Gabi Fernandez shot came back off the woodwork and hit the shoulder of Alves before crossing the line.
Almeria almost equalised, but Carlos Garcia hit the post and the result means they are now 10 points from safety with five games to go.
