Italy centre-half to undergo medical in Turin
Juventus have announced defender Andrea Barzagli is set to undergo a medical ahead of a proposed transfer from Wolfsburg.
The 29-year-old Italy international is expected to pen a contract with the Old Lady and return to Serie A following a three-year stint in Germany.
It is understood Barzagli will sign a two-and-a-half year deal at the Turin-based club until the summer of 2013.
Centre-half Barzagli joined Wolfsburg from Palermo back in 2008 and is expected to provide Juve with back-up for Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci.
He was part of Italy's World Cup-winning squad of 2006 and has had previous spells at Ascoli and Chievo as well as Rondinella and Pistoiese.
His arrival suggests Nicola Legrottaglie may be allowed to leave with Brescia and Cesena interested in the veteran stopper.
Juve's injury problems mean they are also looking for a striker but long-term target Giampaolo Pazzini of Sampdoria has also been linked with Inter Milan.
