Dutch midfielder still on Derby's radar

Derby have not ruled out a swoop for ADO Den Haag midfielder Danny Buijs, according to reports in the Dutch media. The Rams were on the brink of signing the 28-year-old last summer but the deal fell through at the last minute due to personal issues. However, Derby chairman Andrew Appleby and manager Nigel Clough reportedly watched Buijs in action in the Eredivisie clash between Den Haag and FC Twente on Friday night. The versatile midfielder, who can also play as a defender, is out of contract in the summer and is looking to make a move abroad. He has been at Den Haag since 2009 having arrived from Feyenoord, where he also spent his youth career. Meanwhile, Bolton manager Owen Coyle was also at Het Zuiderpark on Friday as Den Haag suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of the reigning champions. The Trotters have not disclosed who Coyle was monitoring during the clash, but speculation in Holland suggests defender Timothy Derijck is on his radar. The Belgian, also a former Feyenoord player, has one year remaining on his contract at Den Haag.
