Striker pens two-year deal with Rostov

Former Liverpool striker Florent Sinama-Pongolle has finalised a move to Russia, signing for Rostov. The 27-year-old was a free agent after leaving Sporting Lisbon and he was linked with a move back to England. But he has now agreed a two-year deal with the Russian Premier League club. "I consider this move to Russia a new challenge in my career," said the former France under-21 international attacker. Sinama-Pongolle, whose wife is Russian, spent last season on loan in his homeland with Saint-Etienne from Sporting Lisbon. He began his career with Le Havre, before spells with Liverpool, Blackburn Rovers, Recreativo Huelva, Atletico Madrid and Zaragoza. Rostov currently lie fourth from bottom of the Russian top flight after seven matches.
