Northern Ireland manager Michael O'Neill has been charged with drink-driving.
O'Neill allegedly failed a breath test after he was pulled over by police just before 1am on Sunday.
Police confirmed a 48-year-old man was charged "in connection with drink driving".
A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Police in Edinburgh arrested and charged a 48-year-old man in connection with drink driving eastbound on the A720 (Edinburgh bypass) around 12.55am on Sunday September 10.
"He is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on October 10."
An Irish FA statement read: "(We are) aware of an alleged drink-driving incident involving Michael O'Neill. As it is a police matter, the Association will be making no further comment."
O'Neill, who resides in the Scottish capital, has guaranteed at least a play-off spot for his nation in their Russia 2018 qualifying group - just a year after leading them to the finals of Euro 2016.
