Brazil star Neymar has admitted he is in “the most difficult” period of his career ahead of his return from injury for the World Cup.

The Paris Saint-Germain forward has not played since February after having surgery on a broken metatarsal bone in his right foot, which he suffered while playing for the Ligue 1 club against Marseille.

After resuming training with PSG on Sunday, the world's most expensive player looks set to make his comeback on June 3 for Brazil in their warm-up match against Croatia, with their opener in Russia two weeks later against Switzerland.

Neymar told Brazilian station TV Globo: "Nobody is as scared as me (about returning).

"I know that people are a little anxious, but nobody more than me, nobody is as nervous about my comeback and nobody is more scared than me.
