Veteran striker signed to boost promotion push

Leeds have signed veteran striker Paul Dickov on a short-term deal until the end of the season. The former Scotland international, 37, will provide added experience as Leeds aim to clinch promotion back to the Championship. Dickov began the season with Leicester and after spending four months on loan at Derby he was released by the Foxes at the start of February. The ex-Manchester City man trained with Leeds as he sought a new club and having already played for two teams this season, he needed Fifa clearance before signing for the Yorkshire outfit. "We're delighted to get things finalised and welcome Paul on board," said Leeds boss Simon Grayson.

Experience

"He has been training with us, we know all about him and what he will bring to the squad over the next few months. "He brings experience both on the pitch and in and around the dressing room, and he is a good short-term signing for the club." Leeds, who are second in League One, are Dickov's 10th club in a career that has seen the former Arsenal trainee score 101 league goals in over 400 appearances.
