Juventus have completed a deal to sign Atletico Madrid striker Mario Mandzukic after the Croatian successfully passed a medical with the Serie A champions.

Mandzukic has agreed a four-year contract with the club, according to Sky Italia, and Juventus have agreed to pay Atletico a fee of £13.6m over the next three years, which could rise to £15m if certain performance incentives are reached.

The 29-year-old joined Atletico last summer from Bayern Munich and scored 20 goals in 43 games for the Spanish side.

Juventus are looking to strengthen their attacking line with Carlos Tevez expected to leave the club this summer.

Tevez, Juve's top scorer in the past two seasons, is under contract with the club for another year but is keen to return home to Argentina, with former club Boca Juniors keen to acquire his services.

Mandzukic becomes the club's second high-profile attacking addition of the summer after the club signed Argentine striker Paulo Dybala from Palermo.

"I'm happy to be in a big club like Juventus," Mandzukic told the club's official website. "I believe the coach (Massimiliano Allegri) knows me well and can get the best out of me.

"I'm ready to do everything necessary for my team-mates. I'll give my best and I think the coach knows me well enough for us to understand each other and for him to get the best out of me.

"Juventus have always had exceptional players. I've played against them and against Italy many times.

"They're a tough team with great quality. That is why I'm really delighted to be a part of this group now."

Juventus won the domestic double - Serie A and Coppa Italia - for the first time since 1995 under first-year coach Massimiliano Allegri last season and also reached the Champions League final before losing 3-1 to Barcelona.

Mandzukic was signed by Atletico from Bayern Munich to replace Chelsea's Diego Costa but struggled to adapt to Diego Simeone's system and Sky Sports La Liga expert Guillem Balague says it is no surprise to see him leave the Spanish capital.

"He has left because he does not fit Atletico Madrid," Balague told Sky Sports News HQ.

"It is not a matter of attitude, although it became very clear near the end of the season that he was looking for a way out and Atletico were happy for him to go.

"It is about the style. Atletico Madrid need a player that is fast, in the mould Diego Costa, like Luciano Vietto from Villarreal, that is a player that suits Atletico Madrid."
