Defender signs for Quakers after Orient exit

Darlington have moved to bolster their squad ahead of the new season by signing former Leyton Orient defender Clayton Fortune. The centre-back was released by the Os at the end of the season following two years at Brisbane Road, during which he spent a spell on loan with Port Vale. Fortune started out with Tottenham, but was unable to make the breakthrough at White Hart Lane, before joining Bristol City. He adds to manager Dave Penney's defensive options and will provide competition for first-choice duo Steve Foster and Alan White.
