Norwegian yet to be contacted by Newcastle

Per Ciljan Skjelbred has admitted that Newcastle 'might be a possibility' in the future but stressed that there have been no talks as yet. Reports recently suggested that the Magpies had agreed terms with Skjelbred's club Rosenborg ahead of a January move to St James' Park. The midfielder's agent dismissed the speculation earlier this week and Skjelbred himself has now insisted that a deal is not being negotiated. The Norway international, who has been linked with a £7million transfer to England, is staying focused on Rosenborg at the present time. However, he has hinted that he might be interested in a switch to Newcastle at some stage in his career. "I haven't heard anything from Newcastle," Skjelbred told TV2. "Newcastle is a good club, it might be a possibility in the future. But right now it is Rosenborg that matters."
