Late strike earns the points at the Olympic Stadium

Hertha Berlin moved into second place in the Bundesliga as a late Marko Pantelic goal secured a 2-1 victory over Cologne. The three points allowed Hertha - who sat fourth at kick-off - to leapfrog Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen in the battle to catch surprise leaders Hoffenheim. Hertha had taken the lead at the Olympic Stadium as Gojko Kacar broke the deadlock after 24 minutes, latching onto on-loan Liverpool striker Andriy Voronin's through ball. But visitors Cologne, who stayed in 10th place as a result of the defeat, restored parity on the stroke of half-time as Milivoje Novakovic headed in a Fabrice Ehret cross. The game looked destined for a draw but substitute Pantelic was in the right place to nod a winner with four minutes left on the clock.
