Barcham and Jackson score for Gills, Leary and O'Flynn on target for Bees

Simeon Jackson's late equaliser earned Gillingham a 2-2 draw which keeps their promotion push going but ensured struggling Barnet's dismal run stretched to 11 games without a win. Gillingham started well, and thought they had taken the lead after 15 minutes, but Jackson's smart finish was ruled out for offside. But the Gills still had a number of opportunities to break the deadlock. First on-loan Spurs winger Andy Barcham saw a shot diverted onto the bar by Bees defender Jeremy de Magalhaes before Jackson was denied by keeper Rob Beckwith. However, it was the hosts who took the lead just 12 seconds into the second half, as skipper for the day Michael Leary powered home an unstoppable 25-yard drive. Gillingham managed to grab an equaliser on 67 minutes as Barcham broke free on the right of the penalty area and lifted the ball beyond the advancing Beckwith for his fifth of the season. Their joy was short-lived as two minutes later Nicky Deverdics sent over a pin-point cross from the left, and John O'Flynn rose to head home his seventh of the season. But deep into stoppage time, Jackson bundled in his 10th of the season from close range to nick a point for the visitors.
