Gillingham and Aldershot share eight goals at Priestfield

Adam Miller's spot-kick rescued a point for Gillingham in an eight-goal thriller at home to Aldershot. The visitors took the lead after 20 minutes when captain Anthony Charles' far-post header was nodded in by Andy Lindegaard. However, the home side instantly hit back when Curtis Weston latched onto a loose ball and rifled a low shot into the bottom corner. Just after the break, substitute Mark McCammon made an immediate impact when he glanced in Nicky Southall's free-kick for his third goal of the season. Moments later McCammon was instrumental again when his defence-splitting pass allowed Andy Barcham to race clear and round keeper Alex McCarthy but David Winfield reduced the visitors' deficit when he headed home after Mark Stimson's side were unable to clear a corner. Misery hit the Gills on the hour when Mark Bentley inadvertently headed into his own net to draw the Shots levels before they went in front with Andy Sandell's volley. But Gillingham fought back once more and Miller's penalty after 72 minutes ensured both sides shared the spoils in a pulsating encounter.
